Vernon Search and Rescue assist a BC Ambulance Team
At 3:30 Sunday afternoon, Vernon Search and Rescue received a call to assist a BC Ambulance Team team with an injured ATV rider in Coldstream. VSAR teams arrived on scene to find that two individuals sustained injuries when their ATV rolled over while trying to traverse a steep side hill in a tight ravine. One patient was brought down the hillside on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance, then transported to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for further treatment. Vernon Search and Rescue would like to remind the public that when enjoying the outdoors, to ride motorized vehicles safely and to always wear proper protective gear. Additionally, with the current fire hazard experienced throughout the province, be aware that hot exhaust or sparks can quickly start unexpected grass or brush fires.
