High Angle MVA Rescue Cherryville
Vernon Search & Rescue was called to assist the BC ambulance service with a high-angle rope Rescue at a motor vehicle accident East of Cherryville.
Arriving on scene they assessed the situation, finding a vehicle roughly 20m down a very steep Bank, with the female subject roughly 50m further down the bank below the vehicle.
Vernon Search and Rescue teams set up and deployed a rope system, and with help from the RCMP and Lumby fire department members hoisted the subject up the steep slope to the safety of the roadway.
The subject was then transferred to the care of waiting BC ambulance personnel, who took the patient to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, where she is currently undergoing further care.
Vernon Search & Rescue would like to remind motorists to be very careful on the icy roads, and always be prepared with blankets, snow clothing, and first aid in their vehicles during this winter season.
